Features · Seven mechanisms, one ledger
every transaction filed, matched and accounted for before the month ends
Cinch is built from seven small, specific capabilities. Each one removes a task you used to carry into the first week of the month, and each is shown below on the screen where it actually works.
Plans from $179 a year, billed annually.
- 01Categorization that learnsOne correction becomes a standing rule.
- 02Reconciliation in a single passExceptions rise; balanced accounts fold away.
- 03Receipts that pair themselvesMerchant, date and amount do the matching.
- 04Approvals before anything postsLarge or unusual entries wait for the right person.
- 05A cash forecast that marks the low pointTwelve months, drawn from your real ledger.
- 06Statements that never go staleProfit and loss and balance sheet, live.
- 07Several entities, one loginConsolidated with intercompany eliminated.
Categorization
teach it once, never again
Correct a vendor and Cinch keeps the pattern: merchant, amount range and account. It shows how sure it is, and offers to refile the similar charges already sitting in the ledger.
How it fits your monthSpend one sitting on the first month. From the second, the review queue holds only what is genuinely new.
Reconciliation
balanced accounts fold away
Each bank and card line is matched against its statement as it posts. What does not match rises to the top with a likely partner, so you work the three exceptions, not the two hundred and eleven that were fine.
How it fits your monthThe close checklist cannot lock a period until every account here reads Balanced.
Receipts
paper finds its own way home
Photograph a receipt, forward an email, or drop a PDF. Cinch reads the merchant, date and total, then pairs it with the transaction that carries the same three facts.
How it fits your monthYour accountant opens a transaction and finds the document attached, instead of sending you a list of what is missing.
Approvals
large payments wait for the right hand
Set a threshold, a vendor list or a category, and any entry that crosses it is held for a named approver. Every decision is stamped with who, when and why.
How it fits your monthNothing unusual reaches the statements unseen, and the trail is ready when your accountant asks.
Cash forecast
see the thin week before it arrives
A rolling forecast built from your actual ledger: recurring bills, invoices due, payroll and estimated tax. The lowest point is marked, so a tight December becomes a conversation in October.
How it fits your monthReview the line during the close, move one invoice or one purchase, and watch the low point shift.
Fig. 2 — Five down, two to go
Every capability above ships on every plan; only the size of the books changes.
Compare Solo, Ledger and Controller side by side and take the one that matches your accounts and your team.
Compare the three plansStatements and tax
reports that stay current on their own
Profit and loss, balance sheet and quarterly estimates update the moment an entry posts. Locked periods are frozen with a timestamp, so last quarter reads the same next year.
How it fits your monthAfter the lock, send your accountant a single link. They see the same figures you do, down to the transaction.
Multi-entity
several companies, one login, one set of books
Switch between entities from the workspace menu, or roll them up. Transfers between your own companies are recognised and eliminated, so consolidated revenue is never counted twice.
How it fits your monthClose each entity on its own checklist, then read the consolidated statement once all of them are locked.
Security
your ledger is read, never moved
Cinch watches your accounts and cannot spend from them. Everything that follows is a plain statement of how data is handled.
Read-only bank links
Feeds are connected through read-only credentials. Cinch can see a transaction; it has no way to originate a payment or a transfer.
Encrypted in transit and at rest
Data travels over TLS and is stored encrypted. Receipts and statements sit behind the same sign-in as your ledger.
Roles and a full audit trail
Choose who can view, categorize, approve or lock. Every change, approval and period lock records the person and the moment.
Integrations
connect once, categorized on arrival
Banks, cards and invoicing tools feed the ledger directly. Add the tools around them and their costs and revenue land already labelled.
- Business checkingBank feeds, daily
- Credit cardsEvery card, every line
- Invoicing toolsPaid invoices matched to deposits
- ShopifyStorefront sales

Reliability
books that are there when the deadline is
Every connection shows its last sync, and a stalled feed raises a flag in your review queue instead of leaving a quiet gap.
Once October is closed, edits require a reopening that is logged with a reason. Reports for closed months do not drift.
Export the ledger, every statement and every receipt at any time, in open formats your accountant already reads.
Bulk recategorizations are reversible from the activity log, so a wrong rule costs a click, not an evening.
